Hypertufa Mosaic Pot Workshop Part 1 & 2

50.00

Hyper what? Hypertufa is a light- weight concrete mix that is great for herbs, flowers and succulents.

Day/ Part 1: Monday, Feb. 25th 3-5pm : Create a small mosaic plate design using handmade tiles and broken mosaic tiles. Pieces are adhered to a small cement board and left to dry. After a few days of drying, we will grout the mosaics before the next class.

Day/ Part 2: Friday, March 1st 3-5pm : During this class, we will mix the hypertufa recipe and place the mosaic plates into the provided mold. Since the hypertufa needs a few days to set and dry, you will go home with your wet hypertufa pot placed inside the mold and instructions of how to remove it. The mold is yours to keep for future hypertufa making. Once this class is completed, you will have the recipe, the mold and the knowledge to make your own hypertufa containers! We will also continue hosting hypertufa workshops with different themes of shape and sizes in case you want to create and make a mess here at the gardens (rather than your home)!

These photos are just concepts and inspiration; however, your creation will vary based on your style and experience.  All of our workshops are at beginner level, no prior art or garden experience necessary (unless noted as Advanced).  Dress for a mess or bring an apron!   We supply all of the tools and supplies needed.  Just bring yourself and plan to have fun while creating in our garden center!

All of our workshops must be prepaid ahead due to limited space and materials needed.  We do require six people to run a class, so make sure you tell a friend!    Our mission is to teach everyone art and garden this season and have the best time creating!  We can also offer private parties, please call Janine for details and more info.
